GEJ Roofing took an existing open front porch in Murfreesboro, Tennessee and turned it into a fully enclosed room, built from the ground up so the homeowner would have an enclosed space for her cats. The scope covered demo, framing, a roof tie-in, new windows and a door, siding, concrete, carpet, and interior drywall and paint. GEJ showed the homeowner a concept rendering before work began – the photos below show how closely the finished result matched it.

Concept to Reality

GEJ Roofing showed the homeowner a rendering of what the enclosed porch could look like before starting work. The finished exterior matched that concept closely – same window placement, same door, same clean lines. Seeing the plan ahead of time helped the homeowner know what she was getting before any demo started.

From Open Porch to Enclosed Room – Step by Step

    Homeowner consultation and concept

    GEJ Roofing put together a concept rendering so the homeowner could see the plan before any work started.

    Demo

    The existing porch decking and railings were removed to prepare for new framing.

    Framing and roof tie-in

    New stud walls were framed, sheathed, and tied into the home’s existing roofline.

    Windows, door, and house wrap

    The new framing was wrapped in synthetic roofing felt, then new windows and an exterior door were installed.

    Siding and concrete

    New siding was installed to match the rest of the home, along with concrete work at the foundation.

    Interior drywall, paint, and carpet

    The inside was finished out with drywall, paint, and new carpet, turning the old porch into a real, usable room.
